Peeples Valley Fire District Recognition & Pinning Ceremony

The Peeples Valley Fire District held a Recognition and Pinning Ceremony on September 29, 2026, honoring its firefighters' dedication, commitment, and years of service, while recognizing their contributions to the community.

The event began with a delicious meal prepared by Captain Ray Paiz and his wife, Kelley, giving firefighters, families, and guests an opportunity to gather, visit, and enjoy time together before the ceremony.

During the ceremony, Chief Shawn Bomar recognized the Board of Directors, Operations Division, Wildland Services Division, and our Administrative and Support Staff for their hard work and dedication to our district and the surrounding Weaver Mountains Communities.

The ceremony also recognized department members for their years of dedicated service, celebrating the time, sacrifice, training, and commitment they have given to the Peeples Valley Fire District and the residents they serve.

Two of our firefighters, Mike Beyle and Lew Theokas, were recognized for fifteen years of dedicated service.

Five-year pins were presented to Lori Bomar, Britteny Dwiggins, and Shawn Akers.

The ceremony also celebrated the promotions of Captain Steven Cranford and Captain Britteny Dwiggins, who were formally recognized for their promotions. This special occasion honored their leadership, experience, and continued commitment to serving the Peeples Valley community.

Captain Cranford will supervise all wildland fire responses and wildfire mitigation programs.

Captain Dwiggins will be responsible for Fire Station management, including all Fire and Emergency Management Services, personnel, and training programs.

The event provided the District, fellow firefighters, and their families an opportunity to come together and express appreciation for those who have dedicated themselves to protecting and serving our community.

This District would not be as successful as it is without the wonderful love and support of all the families!
